Filler-Corn's office responds to campaign announcement from Tran

I recently interviewed Rep. Abigail Spanberger (D-VA07) with Marques Jones ahead of the 2022 midterms. We talked about Spanberger’s efforts to ban members of Congress from actively trading stocks, her desire for new Democratic leadership in Congress, abortion and using this issue for her campaign, and more. Listen to the full interview at the top of this newsletter.

Del. Eileen Filler-Corn’s office responds to Del. Kathy Tran’s campaign announcement

Del. Eileen Filler-Corn’s (D) office responded Thursday to the announcement from Del. Kathy Tran (D) that she will be seeking reelection in the same district where Filler-Corn resides.

“Speaker Filler-Corn’s number one focus right now is electing Democrats who are on the ballot this year and ensuring they are successful at all levels from Congress to School Board,” a spokesperson for Filler-Corn said Thursday. “She lives in the 18th district and has been speaking to her neighbors and constituents for months about Republican attacks on education, abortion access, and sensible gun violence prevention. It’s important to note that early voting has already started and she believes we need all hands on deck to win in 32 days.”
