Wheeler goes down
Republicans were unable to get one of Governor Glenn Youngkin’s cabinet secretary picks through the state Senate for confirmation. Democrats control the chamber 21-19, but Republican Lieutenant Governor Winsome Sears can cast tie-breaking votes. Republicans hoped that they could flip just one senator, but their efforts were unsuccessful and Wheeler was not confirmed.
