VPAP district profiles show percentages of voters in districts that are new to legislators
VPAP released profiles on districts with primary elections. The profiles look at the new districts and several other aspects of the race including the percentage of voters that are new to candidates who have been previously elected.
SD-11
According to VPAP, 31.6% of the district’s voters are new to Sen. Creigh Deeds while 62.1% of the voters are new to Del. Sally Hudson.
SD-12
46% of voters in this district are new to Sen. Amanda Chase while 60.1% of voters are new to former Sen. Glen Sturtevant. Tina Ramirez has never been elected to anything so she is not listed.
SD-13
61% of the voters in this district are new to Sen. Joe Morrissey while 74.1% of voters are new to former Del. Lashrecse Aird.
SD-17
77.6% of voters in this district are new to Del. Emily Brewer. Hermie Sadler has never been an elected official so he is not listed.
SD-18
62.9% of the voters are new to Sen. Louise Lucas while 57% are new to Sen. Lionell Spruill.
SD-19
100% of the voters in this district are new to Del. Tim Anderson. Jeff Bruzzesi and Christie Craig have never been elected so they are not listed.

56.6% of voters are new to City Councilwoman Andria McClellan while 69.2% of voters are new to Angelia Williams Graves.

65.4% of voters are new to Del. Tara Durant. Matt Strickland has never been elected so he is not listed.

59.2% of voters are new to Sen. Jeremy McPike while 63.9% of voters are new to Elizabeth Guzman.

51.9% of voters are new to Del. Suhas Subramanyam while 95.3% of voters are new to former Del. Ibraheem Samirah.

House Majority Leader Terry Kilgore Endorses Glen Sturtevant

Sens. Louise Lucas and Lionell Spruill duke it out in primary: Abortion, voting rights, taxes remain hot topics - Va Pilot

Sens. Louise Lucas and Lionell Spruill aren’t afraid of a fight. Many legislators moved or declined to seek reelection after once-a-decade redistricting left some incumbents of the same party within the same boundary lines. But Lucas and Spruill, both longtime legislators in Hampton Roads, are instead going head-to-head in the June 20 Democratic primary for the newly drawn District 18, which encompasses parts of Portsmouth and Chesapeake.
The race has garnered plenty of publicity, with attack ads running on TV and campaign donations pouring in to both campaigns. The Virginia Public Access Project reported that Lucas and Spruill had raised $1,040,423 and $855,620, respectively, as of March 31.
Democratic primaries in Central Va. drawing largest early-vote totals - RTD

A little more than halfway through the early voting period for Virginia’s legislative primary elections — the first to be conducted under newly drawn district lines — hotly contested Democratic races in Petersburg and the Charlottesville area have drawn the most interest, according to state election data compiled by the nonpartisan Virginia Public Access Project.
VPAP publishes regular updates to early vote totals for both the State Senate and the House of Delegates, with breakdowns between early in-person votes and mail-in absentee ballots, though no information on candidates for whom votes are cast is released until after the polls close on June 20.
