The vote-counting process is very slow with just five people counting the more than 26,000 primary ballots that were cast during yesterday’s election to choose a VA-04 Democratic nominee.

The party was looking into amending the party call earlier this afternoon to add new counters but I do not have an update on that yet.

Sounds like Democrats are trying to bring in more people to count votes as this is going slow. It has to be approved by the congressional district committee first, apparently.

As of 2:15 pm, roughly 3,500 ballots have been counted out of the 26,464 that were cast.

There is no official answer yet on how late the counting will go into the evening.
