Spanberger’s campaign continues to knock Vega for past votes against funding police
VA-07 continues to defy the typical campaign talking points of Democrats and Republicans with Rep. Abigail Spanberger’s (D) campaign continuously hitting Republican Yesli Vega (R) for her votes against increasing funding for law enforcement in Prince William County where she serves as a supervisor.
The latest hit comes after Vega’s recent appearance on Fox News when the hosts asked Vega directly about these hits from Spanberger. “She is absolutely desperate, she is running scared, that allegation is laughable,” Vega said Monday. “I am a member of law enforcement, I still am, and the fact that she is making those claims and running ads clearly shows that she is afraid. She can run but she cannot hide from her disastrous voting record.”
Spanberger’s campaign cites these three votes as evidence of Vega voting against additional funding for police.
They also attacked Vega for her fundraising emails that claim law enforcement is slandering Donald Trump.
