Lucas and Locke endorse McClellan
Virginia State Sens. Louise Lucas (D-Portsmouth) and Mamie Locke (D-Hampton) endorsed Jennifer McClellan in the Democratic VA-04 nomination battle today.
“I’ve known Jenn since she was in college, and I have seen first-hand her dedication to community and public service,” Lucas said in her endorsement. “Jenn has fought tirelessly for Virginia families during her 17 years in the House of Delegates and the State Senate. As the first Black woman President Pro Tempore of the Virginia Senate, I am proud to endorse Jennifer’s historic campaign to be the first Black woman Virginia sends to Congress. She’s the champion we need.”
“Senator McClellan is one of the most impressive leaders I have served with in my 18 years in the Senate of Virginia,” Locke said in her endorsement. “She has the energy, dedication and proven record of results that we need in Congress to continue the work of my friend, Donald McEachin. Senator McClellan will uplift communities and ensure that Virginians get the representation they deserve in Congress. I proudly endorse her campaign and look forward to seeing her make history as the first Black woman elected to Congress from Virginia.”
The firehouse primary is Tuesday.
Morrissey paid for an ad encouraging Republicans to vote for him
Joe Morrissey paid for an ad that was narrated by Republican talk show host and strong Trump supporter, John Fredericks. In the ad, Fredericks encourages Republicans to vote for Morrissey because he is “pro-life” and a “fiscal conservative.”
Morrissey’s voice is at the end saying his campaign’s exploratory commmittee paid for the ad.
