A judge rules in favor of school boards over Youngkin in first test of mask policies in schools
On Friday, a judge in Arlington put a temporary block on Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s second executive order that made masks optional in school districts across the commonwealth.
After Youngkin announced the order on his inauguration day, seven school districts quickly filed suit in response. A judge in Arlington ruled Friday that the governor’s order cannot override decisions made by individual school districts.
