Del. Bagby Wins

Del. Lamont Bagby won the Democratic nomination for the SD-09 special election to replace Jennifer McClellan. McClellan was elected to the House of Representatives last week.

Bagby earned 72% of the 6,525 votes cast in the firehouse primary.

1. Lamont Bagby – 4,726 (72.43%)

2. Alexsis E. Rodgers – 1,375 (21.07%)

3. Dawn Adams – 424 (6.50%)

This is a reliably Democratic district, but Republicans chose Stephen Imholt to be their nominee.

The special election will be held on Tuesday, March 28.
