The Trump campaign responds to Gwen Waltz and Doug Emhoff campaigning in Virginia
In case you missed it yesterday, Doug Emhoff (the husband of Vice President Kamala Harris) and Gwen Waltz (the wife of Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz) are campaigning in Virginia in the next few days.
The Virginia campaign for Donald Trump responded to the news with a statement:
“The First Lady of Minnesota and the Second Gentleman are campaigning in Virginia on Labor Day weekend? They’re campaigning in Virginia because President Trump has turned a state Democrats mistakenly thought was safely blue into a genuine battleground,” said Jeff Ryer, a spokesperson for Trump’s Virginia campaign.
U.Va. suspends admissions tours led by the University Guides Service - Cavalier Daily
By Thomas Baxter , Grace Thrush and Finn Trainer
The University Guide Service announced Wednesday in a statement on Instagram that the University has suspended them from conducting both admissions and historical tours, citing concerns from the University over tour attendance and tour quality. According to the statement, the Guide Service will continue to work with the University to develop an agreement that would allow for future Guide Service-led tours, and the group will continue their recruitment operations for the semester.
The Guide Service is a student-run organization on Grounds that gave admissions and historical tours to prospective students, families and visitors. As a Special Status Organization, the group is among a handful of other groups on Grounds — such as the Honor Committee and the University Judiciary Committee — that are trusted to act as agents of the University. This designation means that they are required to keep a close working relationship with a University advisor.
Va.’s new school rating system will likely label most schools as ‘off track’ - RTD

The new system will replace the state’s current school accreditation system, which Gov. Glenn Youngkin has long criticized for painting what he terms an inaccurate picture of Virginia schools’ academic achievement.
