Swecker and seven other Democrats have formed a coalition to fill positions at DPVA
Democratic Party of Virginia Chair Susan Swecker has formed a coalition with seven other Democrats to build a ticket for party leadership elections on March 19. Swecker filed to run for her old position along with four other challengers over the weekend.
Now she is working to build a ticket with support and a preferred candidate at each level of the state party’s elected apparatus. “Eight of us have decided to run as what we are calling the ‘Virginia Forward’ ticket,” Swecker said in an email to fellow Democrats. “We have a lot of work ahead of us to protect and build upon the progress Virginia Democrats have made in recent years.”
