Subramanyam announces $100K raised in first day of congressional campaign
Sen.-elect Suhas Subramanyam’s campaign for Congress says they have raised over $100,000 in the first 24 hours of his candidacy for the VA-10 Democratic nomination. He officially announced his candidacy Thursday morning.
“I am humbled by the outpouring of community support behind my campaign for Congress,” said Subramanyam. “I am excited that my record of service and commitment to taking on tough fights that protect our communities is resonating, and I look forward to building on this momentum. I am proud to see such overwhelming support from members of our community who know I will deliver real results for them in Congress.”
Other Democratic candidates for this seat include former Speaker Eileen Filler-Corn, Sen. Jennifer Boysko, Del. David Reid, and Del. Dan Helmer.

Kim Pope Adams requests a recount
HD-82 Democratic candidate Kimberly Pope Adams is asking for a recount after losing to Del. Kim Taylor (R) by 74 votes.
“The results of this election are far too close for anyone to declare outright victory. The people of the 82nd House District deserve to know with absolute certainty who is the winner of this race and Virginia law affords them that right. For that reason, I am seeking a recount of the vote,” Pope Adams said in a statement. “I will allow the process to take the full time and effort necessary to ensure accuracy of the count. While I am hopeful of the outcome, I will respect the results.”
The state pays for a recount when the margin between the two candidates is less than or equal to 0.5%. Taylor’s margin of victory is less than .3%.
