Little filed emergency injunction and also seems to express sympathy for Trump
Makya Little has still not accepted her primary loss and announced with a music video on Instagram that she filed an Emergency Motion for Injunctive Relief in her case trying to keep ballots from being printed.
A reminder: Little says she is defending the Constitution by asking the court to stop ballots from being printed with the HD-19 Democratic primary winner Rozia Henson’s name. Henson defeated Little by 49 votes in the Democratic primary.
Little is seeking to run as an Independent against Henson in the general election but Virginia’s Sore Loser Law prevents candidates from doing so after losing a primary. She believes the law provides no remedy for candidates who feel they were slighted — even though candidates have to sign a form before the primary indicating they are running as a Democrat and will not run as an Independent if they lose.
She is asking the court to prevent ballots from being printed until the civil suit is completed.
The Department of Elections, the State Board of Elections, and Democratic Party of Virginia (DPVA) Chairwoman Susan Swecker are listed as defendants in the case.
Little also recently seemed to draw a comparison between her situation and Donald Trump’s — the former president is facing a mountain of indictments for his actions in trying to overturn the 2020 election.
