Srinivasan resigns from House — HD-26 special election to take place Jan. 7

Del. Kannan Srinivasan submitted his resignation to Speaker Don Scott on Monday after he won the SD-32 nomination contest over the weekend.

Scott then scheduled the special election for Jan. 7 to ensure the 51-49 Democratic majority remains intact heading into the legislative session.

Two Democrats have declared their intention to run for the House seat.
