The latest polling shows Youngkin’s popularity growing in Virginia but the number of Republicans supporting him for president decreased.
Griffin touts money raised in first week of campaign
Joel Griffin, a Democratic candidate in SD-27 announced Wednesday that he raised $150,000 in the first week of his campaign for the state Senate. (The reports aren’t due for months so we cannot find out who gave him how much for a while.)
Griffin is seeking the Democratic nomination in this open district comprising parts of Stafford, Spotsylvania, and Fredericksburg.
Benjamin Litchfield and Luke Radley Wright are also seeking the nomination.
On the Republican side, Del. Tara Durant and Matt Strickland are seeking the nomination.
Monica Gary is running as an Independent.
According to analysis from VPAP, Glenn Youngkin won this district by eight points in 2021. Democrats are still optimistic that they can flip this seat, however.
