The deadline for submitting campaign finance reports is tonight at midnight
Terry McAuliffe raised $4.1 Million in Q1 of 2021, He has 8.5 Million Cash on Hand; and Terry Has Raised $10.3 Mil total
It is VPAP DAY! Well kind of, Terry McAuliffe was the only gubernatorial candidate to file his campaign finance reports early. So for the most part, it looks like we will be waiting until tomorrow morning to see the reports from most statewide candidates. A few LG and AG candidates have reported their numbers, however. You can view updates on what has already been posted on VPAP below.
Attorney General:
In the attorney general race, Republican Chesterfield supervisor @HaleyForVA raised $119,584 and has $67,023 cash on hand.
Another GOP candidate for AG, Chuck Webb, raised $137,948. But he only finished the quarter with $31,563
.@JasonMiyaresVA reported raising $230k in the first quarter as he seeks the Republic attorney general nomination
I haven't heard anything about @MarkHerringVA's numbers yet. But I have heard from a source that his primary challenger @jonesjay will have more than $1 million cash on hand.
Lieutenant Governor
Democratic lieutenant governor candidate Sam Rasoul raised $630K in Q1 virginiascope.com/democratic-lie…
Not many statewide numbers in yet, but Democratic LG candidate @AndriaMcClellan raised $394,502 in Q1 leaving her with $406k cash on hand.
Democratic LG candidate @SeanPerrymanVA raised $105,341 in Q1 leaving him with $158,633 cash on hand
More from the Democratic LG candidates: Mark Levine raised $504,426, but $350,000 of that was a loan to himself.
On the Republican side for lieutenant governor,
@TimHugo raised $198,374 in Q1 and had $103,767 cash on hand at the end of March.
House News:
A new development for this story — @RodHallforVA raised $128,099 in Q1 and finished with $103,249 cash on hand. vpap.org/committees/256…
Brandon Jarvis @Jaaavis
Nick Clemente (R) is challenging @WendyGooditisVA (D) in the House and raised $191,379 with $155,340 cash on hand. Gooditis won by 4 points in 2019.
Republican challenger Harold Pyon outraised @HelmerVA in HD-40. Pyon raised $136,757 in Q1 and Helmer only raised $88,341. Helmer has more cash on hand, however, with $178,958 at the end of March compared to Pyon's $132,278
Democratic Delegate Steve Heretick was outraised by his primary challenger Nedarius Clark. Heretick raised $36,366 and Clark raised $37,726. Heretick has a significant cash on hand advantage of $86,742 to Clark's $35,227
