Constitutional conservatives target Speaker Gilbert with anti-gun control lobbying efforts
The Virginia Constitutional Conservatives are trying to put pressure on Republican delegates and the Speaker of the House to repeal gun laws that were enacted under Democratic control. The leader of the group, Chris Anders, wrote a letter to the members updating them on what legislation to support and who to lobby. He encouraged members to lobby Speaker Todd Gilbert directly.
In the email from Anders that is titled “2A' Delegates wilting...again,” They are specifically pushing their supporters to encourage certain Republican delegates to vote in favor of Del. Marie March’s red-flag law repeal, House Bill 1394.
