SD-31’s voters are 90% Loudoun County residents and 10% Fauquier residents.
The incumbent would have been Republican state Sen. Jill Vogel, but she will not be seeking reelection.
Juan Pablo Segura is seeking the Republican nomination. Vogel is supporting him. Segura will be well funded with family money.
Russet Perry appears to have the backing of institutional Democrats as she seeks the nomination. She is a former CIA agent. Zach Cummings is also seeking the Democratic nomination.
This is a 50/50 district according to VPAP.
