Obenshain’s race has third party candidate
Something that has seemed to fly under the radar so far is that Sen. Mark Obenshain (R) is running against a Democrat and a Libertarian. Joshua Huffman has filed to run in SD-02 against Obenshain and Kathy Beery (D).
It is doubtful that this will make a difference in this reliably Republican district, however, as analysis from VPAP shows that Glenn Youngkin won the district by nearly 50 points in 2021.
Also, there appears to be no presence of Huffman’s campaign on the internet and social media.
He did make a post on his personal Facebook addressing the lack of access for third party candidates in December of 2022 and said that Obenshain told him he believes only Democrats and Republicans should be allowed to run for office.
