A look at Virginia’s new Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: What she has said in the past about abortion and critical race theory.
Angela Sailor is the new Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Virginia after a new executive order and appointment from Governor Youngkin on Wednesday. Past statements and written articles from Sailor immediately were brought to light about her after the announcement. The new job description for the office says that it is for promoting ideas, policies, and economic opportunities for disadvantaged Virginians, including ones living with disabilities, and bringing people of different faiths together.
Sailor has railed against critical race theory in her role at The Heritage Foundation, a well-known conservative think tank. Those comments, as well as what she has written about abortion, align with the Virginia Republican agenda.
